Darkroom is a dedicated team of industry folks who - like celluloid archaeologists - discover then share memorable titles throughout the scope of cinema. We are not supported by large investors, big wigs (maybe Big Wig in spirit), studio suits, or the like, but rather a small, scrappy bunch of movie lovers who wanted to build a platform which provides memorable stories, crafty filmmaking, and visual splendor to those seeking entertainment. It’s like in Detroit Rock City, when Christine (Natasha Lyon) - a disco loving hitchhiker - says to Trip “Good tunes is good tunes.” At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter the genre, the setting, the time period…good films is good films. It’s finding them that’s the hard part.
And we’d like to make that a little easier. As the endless waves of new media come crashing in, having the right tools is key; tools to help find, amidst the torrential storm of choices, choice selections. Perhaps offering a guiding hand, but never taking the steering wheel. We want you to be your own algorithm. Laugh, cry, scream…just feel something authentic in the paradox of make believe.
We provide this for free, sharing our hard work so people have a chance to check it out. But keeping this going is prodigious in many respects.
